Well, this past Sunday was not nearly as nice as the last with all of the wedding festivities, but still it was a refreshing break from the routine of work and school. I chatted with my overseas friend who lives without Sundays recently; of course we could not talk on a Sunday as she was at work … I cannot imagine!

Too busy to write lately. Crazy at work, busy on the weekends. Hard to squeeze it all in.
We had a great Sunday a few weeks ago. Family friends made a wedding and we were invited to all of the festivities. The wedding itself was on Saturday night, but there were parties before and a big brunch the day after – on a Sunday! We were among several families hosting the brunch. It is always a festive noisy gathering with three generations of family gabbing, playing, running around and of course eating. There are birthdays spanning the generations and a cake for each. Different cakes even for each person celebrating their birthday. Read the rest of this entry »

Ah yes, I take them for granted. Don’t even think twice about it. Don’t even give it a second’s thought. Sundays. And their partner, Saturday night. A friend of mine recently moved abroad to a place where Sundays are just like Mondays and Tuesdays and Wednesdays. No different, just a work day or school day or camp day. She tells me up and down that once you are in the midst of a Sunday such as this, that it is no big deal. It doesn’t feel strange, and she doesn’t feel short-changed. I don’t believe her for a second. Read the rest of this entry »
